State police identified suspect as Alfredo Maldonado-Gonzalez
LANCASTER WITH THE NEW INFORMATION. BARBARA. JERRY. STATE POLICE HAVE TOLD US WITHIN THE HOUR THAT THEY ARRESTED 40 YEAR OLD ALFREDO MALDONADO GONZALEZ, CHARGING HIM WITH ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING OF A STATE POLICE CORPORAL, A TROOPER WHO WAS HERE EARLIER TODAY. NOW THIS ALL HAPPENED HERE IN THE 600 BLOCK OF EAST FULTON STREET, RIGHT NEAR THE HORSE AND THEY WERE COLLECTING EVIDENCE FROM THESE GARAGES AND STORAGE UNITS ALL DAY LONG. STATE POLICE LOADED A MOTORCYCLE ONTO A TOW TRUCK JUST IN THE PAST HOUR AND HAD HAD IT TOWED AWAY. INVESTIGATORS SAY THEY RECOVERED A STOLEN HANDGUN. THEY BELIEVE MALDONADO GONZALEZ USED IN THE SHOOTING. IT HAPPENED AROUND 620 IN THE MORNING. MEMBERS OF THE LANCASTER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION UNIT, AIDED BY THE SPECIAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, WERE TRYING TO ACCESS THE STORAGE UNITS IN CONNECTION WITH AN ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION. THEY HAD A SEARCH WARRANT, THEY ANNOUNCED THEMSELVES AND THEN THEY HEARD GUNSHOTS COMING FROM INSIDE. ONE OF THE UNITS. ONE STRUCK A MEMBER OF THE SERT TEAM IN THE ARM, AND THEY TOOK THE SUSPECT INTO CUSTODY AT 6:00. I HEARD SHOTS. WHEN I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW, I SAW WAS THE SWAT. I GUESS IT’S THE SWAT TEAM RAIDING THE GARAGE IS ALL THEY TOLD US. I HAD HOLES IN MY IN MY GARAGE, AND STATE POLICE TELL US THAT THE TROOPER IS IN STABLE CONDITION IN THE HOSPITAL AND IS EXPECTED TO RECOVER AGAIN. A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was shot while serving a warrant in Lancaster County. On Wednesday, at 6:19 a.m., the PSP Lancaster Criminal Investigation Unit was executing a search warrant on multiple storage units on the 600 block of East Fulton Street in Lancaster as part of an ongoing armed robbery investigation.While opening the units, officers heard gunshots from inside one of them.A PSP Corporal assigned to the Special Emergency Response Team who was assisting in serving the warrant was hit in the arm.The Corporal suffered a non-life-threatening bullet wound and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital. He is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.The suspect, who state police identified as 40-year-old Alfredo Maldonado-Gonzalez, was taken into custody on scene without injury.No shots were fired by law enforcement during the incident. A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was shot while serving a warrant in Lancaster County.
On Wednesday, at 6:19 a.m., the PSP Lancaster Criminal Investigation Unit was executing a search warrant on multiple storage units on the 600 block of East Fulton Street in Lancaster as part of an ongoing armed robbery investigation.

State police said they found a stolen handgun in the storage unit, which was believed to be the weapon Maldonado-Gonzalez used.
He's charged with the following:

- Possession of a firearm
