A Conan Exiles cooking specialist guide will teach you where to find all the recipes in the game. There is a lot of info on these recipe books to cover, so I will give each one the credit and attention it deserves.

There are over 800 consumables in Conan Exiles, each with different effects, HP regen, and hunger satiation. Only around a hundred of these are learned from Specialist Cooking, but they are among the best.

Specialist Cooking I

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (3)

The Specialist Cooking I cookbook can be learned by interacting with a book at The Summoning Place. It’s on the ground next to a fire ring surrounded by bedrolls and some cages.

Recipes

The recipes in Specialist Cooking I can be found below. There is a good variety of foods in this book, some warm, some cool, and some give unique buffs. All of the ingredients can be found in the desert.

Darfari Bug Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (4)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 5 Handful of Insects, 1 Fat Grub
  • Effects – Cooling Down, Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 43
  • Thirst Quenched – 14
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: If you’re early and have a lot of bugs, go for it because there aren’t many foods you can make with bugs. So you might as well use them. But I wouldnt’s search for bugs for this soup.

Spiced Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (5)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 2 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 10
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is a decent soup, but I would pass on it because there are much better options for fewer and easier-to-find ingredients.

Corrupting Brew

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (6)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Purified Water, 1 Demon Blood, 1 Yellow Lotus Blossom
  • Effects – Corrupting
  • HP Regen – none
  • Hunger Sated – none
  • Thirst Quenched – 36
  • Expires – no

Craft or Pass: This is not a drink I would make because it takes Demon Blood, which you need for other things. It also seems to bug out as it is supposed to remove corruption but doesn’t always do that.

Flavored Gruel

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (7)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Gruel, 1 Dried Berries, 2 Spice
  • Effects – Durable, Sated
  • HP Regen – 2HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 25
  • Thirst Quenched – 10
  • Expires – 2 hours

Craft or Pass: Unlike normal Gruel, Flavored Gruel is not made for thralls. All around, it’s a pointless food, in my opinion, though it does last two hours.

Salted Pork

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (8)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Raw Pork, 5 Salt
  • Effects – Sated, Strength Weapon Damage +15%
  • HP Regen – 8HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 84
  • Thirst Quenched – none
  • Expires – 2 hours

Craft or Pass: Salted Pork is a great food if you only have this recipe book. It is inexpensive to make, lasts a long time, and has great buffs.

Spiced Pork

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (9)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Raw Pork, 3 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 9HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 94
  • Thirst Quenched – none
  • Expires – 1 hour

Craft or Pass: This is a great food, though you have to farm pigs and spice. You can craft it here or buy it for 1 Silver Coin from Ephremis the Broker in the Westwall area of Sepermeru.

Specialist Cooking II

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (10)

Specialist Cooking II is in a book at the top of a tower south of Skyholme Ruins. This is a tall tower so you need good stamina to reach it or you will fall halfway up. Taking off your armor or using climbing gear can help.

Recipes

The recipes that Specialist Cooking II teaches are below. The flavored text for this one is quite…flavorful. Each recipe is unique though none of them are go-tos for me as this is one of my least favorite specialist cooking books.

Aloe Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (11)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 1 Aloe Leaf
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – none
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 13
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: I recommend saving Aloe for potions, so it’s a pass for me. But if you want a quick food and water supply, then making a soup like this can work.

Spiced Oysters

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (12)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Oyster Flesh, 2 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 79
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: Oysters can only be used in a few recipes, and I’d say this is the best. So this is a craft for me as it warms you and gives decent HP.

Cooked Oyster

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (13)
  • Crafting Station – Campfire
  • Ingredients – 1 Oyster Flesh
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 2HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 20
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is a pass for me most of the time, but there is nothing to lose if you cook them up except that you can no longer use them in other recipes. But if you don’t plan to, then go for it.

Berry Juice

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (14)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Purified Water, 1 Aloe Leaf, 5 Highland or Desert Berries
  • Effects – Cooling Down
  • HP Regen – none
  • Hunger Sated – no
  • Thirst Quenched – 37
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: I pass on this because it’s not a good use of ingredients. It is a mediocre source of water and it cools you down, but there are many more options that are far superior.

Specialist Cooking III

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (15)

Specialist Cooking III is on the floor inside a building at the Mounds of the Dead. Head to the two small buildings in the northeast corner and go to the northern one. There you will find the book.

Recipes

Below are the recipes in Specialist Cooking III. The variety of ingredients for this one entertain me because the story behind the recipes is that someone is teaching their younger brother to hunt and use what they find.

Meaty Mashup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (16)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Feral Flesh, 1 Savoury Flesh
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 79
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: So good. I know multiple people who use this is their primary source of food, and I understand why. Feral Flesh seems to stack up, so why not add some Savoury Flesh and get a good amount of HP and hunger satiation?

Enhanced Gruel

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (17)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients1 Gruel, 1 Egg, 1 Spice
  • Effects – Durable, Sated
  • HP Regen – 3HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 33
  • Thirst Quenched – 12
  • Expires – 3 hours

Craft or Pass: This gruel is not a good one to eat because it doesn’t offer much. It also doesn’t do much for thralls. So overall, it’s a waste of eggs and spices. Skip it.

Cleansing Brew

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (18)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Herbal Tea, 1 yellow Lotus Blossom
  • Effects – Reduces corruption by 5% of the max HP
  • HP Regen – none
  • Hunger Sated – no
  • Thirst Quenched – 36
  • Expires – no

Craft or Pass: I could go either way on this, but I would generally skip it if I had a dancer. It doesn’t hurt to be corrupted for a little while, so I wait for a dancer every time.

Spiced Tea

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (19)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Herbal Tea, 1 Spice
  • Effects – Warming Up
  • HP Regen – no
  • Hunger Sated – no
  • Thirst Quenched – 31
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This tea is okay because it grants thirst satiation and it warms you. But again, there are better options for cheaper ingredients.

Herbal Tea

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (20)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Purified Water, 1 Aloe Leaf, 5 Plant Fiber
  • Effects – Regenerates Stamina
  • HP Regen – none
  • Hunger Sated – no
  • Thirst Quenched – 39
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: I would skip this but to each their own. If you have a ton of extra aloe and don’t min purifying water all the time, then do it but beware because the stamina regen doesn’t always work.

Seed Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (21)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 1 Seed
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 13
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: It’s a good idea to keep a stack of regular soup on hand. While this isn’t a good soup, seeds are so easy to make that it’s worth having some Seed Soup made as it takes care of food and water.

Specialist Cooking IV

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (22)

Specialist Cooking IV is in a book in the northcentral building at the Mounds of the Dead. You can find it on a table next to a wine barrel but be careful because enemies are in the building.

Recipes

The recipes learned in Specialist Cooking IV are below. This book might as well be Arby’s menu because it has the meats. If you’re always hunting and having stacks of meat in your inventory, this is one useful book.

Trail Jerky

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (23)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Exotic Flesh, 5 Salt
  • Effects – Armor +50, Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 70
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 1 hour, 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: Jerky is so good because it spoils slowly. For this one, I will craft it if I have extra exotic meat (because it’s good) but may save it for something else if I don’t because that stuff is rare.

Steak and Eggs

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (24)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Savoury Flesh, 1 Egg
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 79
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: Early game, I farm eggs and sometimes eat them raw when I’m lazy. But after that, I don’t often touch eggs, so I don’t make this. That said, it’s a good dish.

Exquisite Stew

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (25)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Savoury Flesh, 1 Soup
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 13
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is an average soup, somehow despite the ingredients, so I usually skip it. But again, if you happen to have the recipe and not many others, it’s still decent.

Savory Jerky

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (26)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Savoury Flesh, 5 Salt
  • Effects – Health +60, Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 71
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 1 hour, 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: The extra health boost is so good here, and the meat lasts a while because it’s jerky. I like to keep some type fo jerky around and if you farm a ton of deer, you’ll always have Savoury Flesh. This one is a win.

Salted Exquisite Meat

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (27)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Exquisite Meat, 5 Salt
  • Effects – Agility Weapon Damage +15%, Sated
  • HP Regen – 8HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 84
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 2 hours

Craft or Pass: Overall, this meat is good. But Exquisite Meat is no joke to farm. Shoebills are probably the best bet, which I have farmed, and it was worth it. In fact, I suggest taking a day to farm them just to keep meat like this around.

Spiced Exquisite Meat

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (28)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Exquisite Meat, 3 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 9HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 94
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 1 hour

Craft or Pass: So good. If you have a ton of spices on the spice rack, then make this meat. It doesn’t last two hours like the non-spiced version, but it’s still really amazing.

Specialist Cooking V

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (29)

Specialist Cooking V is at the Trappers Cabin on a book on a bench in the yard. I suggest taking care of the handful of enemies there because they can hit hard when you’re distracted.

Recipes

Specialist Cooking V recipes are below. Though most of the recipes are average, there are a couple that give you extra carry capacity, which can be so good for short periods when gathering metals.

Hearty Stew

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (30)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Exotic Flesh, 1 Soup
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 13
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: Because Exotic Flesh is rare and valuable, I don’t recommend making stew with it.

Demon Blood-Sausage

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (31)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Demon Blood, 1 Raw Pork
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 79
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: Don’t do it. Demon Blood is too valuable and if you want to use it for cooking, there are better options.

Rhino Head Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (32)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Black Rhino Head, 1 Exotic Flesh, 1 Soup
  • Effects – Carrying Capacity +45, Sated
  • HP Regen – 7HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 72
  • Thirst Quenched – 14
  • Expires – 1 hour, 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is a decent option because there aren’t many uses for the rhino heads. But that Exotic Flesh still has better foods it can make.

Lasting Feast

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (33)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Roasted Haunch, 1 Aloe Leaf, 1 Soup
  • Effects – Carrying Capacity +45, Durable, Sated
  • HP Regen – 13HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 132
  • Thirst Quenched – 36
  • Expires – 6 hours

Craft or Pass: If you have the resources, do it. This is an amazing food with few rivals. This is what Exotic Meat can do.

Spiced Slivers

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (34)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Reptile Hide, 1 Meat Strip, 3 Spice
  • Effects – Warming Up Sated
  • HP Regen – 8HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 83
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is the perfect use for Reptile Hide and Feral Flesh. Make it.

Specialist Cooking VI

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (35)

Specialist Cooking VI is learned the same way as Specialist Cooking I. It is in the same book at the Summoning Palace, so you can learn them with one click. Luckily, it’s in the desert, not far from Noob River.

Recipes

The recipes for Specialist Cooking VI are below. It has a couple of early game gems and one amazing late game treat, so all-around, this book will last you all game.

Hearty Feast

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (36)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Steak and Eggs, 1 Spice, 1 Herbal Tea
  • Effects – Follower Damage +12%, Sated
  • HP Regen – 12HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 124
  • Thirst Quenched – 30
  • Expires – 1 hour, 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: Hearty Feast is really good, but it takes time and effort. You have to make Steak and Eggs, after all. But if you take the time, it’s well worth it.

Bone Broth

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (37)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 1 Bone
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 41
  • Thirst Quenched – 13
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This food isn’t great, but it’s an early game savior as bone is so easy to get.

Spiced and Shredded Roast

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (38)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Shredded Roast, 2 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 5HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 56
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: I say this is a middle-ground choice. It’s good but not amazing, yet it is a good way to use Feral Flesh.

Bug Kabob

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (39)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Fat Grub, 1 Branch
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 5HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 54
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is another good early-game pick to use those grubs.

Spiced Egg

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (40)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Egg, 2 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 5HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 54
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: This is a good choice if you have eggs but no meat, though it does spoil fast.

Specialist Cooking VII

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (41)

Specialist Cooking VII is on the Torn Diary Page at Muriela’s Hope. To get to it, you have to climb the scaffolding around the feet statue and read the diary at the edge.

Recipes

Below are the Specialist Cooking VII recipes. The ingredients are decently easy to find, and none are bad, so this is a valuable though not top-tier book.

Chili Desert Style

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (42)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Feral Flesh, 5 Salt, 5 Spice
  • Effects – Sated, Warming Up
  • HP Regen – 8HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 81
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: As far as Feral Flesh goes, this is a good way to use it. If you have extra Spices, I suggest making this. If you don’t have spices, make some with bark.

Yellow Lotus Soup

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (43)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Soup, 1 Yellow Lotus Blossom
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 40
  • Thirst Quenched – 12
  • Expires – 45 minutes

Craft or Pass: This soup is a lifesaver if you live in the desert near yellow lotuses.

Egg Surprise

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (44)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Egg, 1 Ichor, 1 Salt
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 4HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 43
  • Thirst Quenched – no
  • Expires – 1 hour

Craft or Pass: This is a pass most of the time because it’s not as good as other egg and ichor foods.

Salted Berries

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (45)
  • Crafting Station – Stove
  • Ingredients – 1 Dried Berries, 1 Salt
  • Effects – Sated
  • HP Regen – 3HP/3s
  • Hunger Sated – 35

Craft or Pass: Salted Berries are not something I ever make and with good reason.

Specialist Cooking VIII

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (46)

Specialist Cooking VIII is in a note at the Tower of Bats. It is just around the corner before the stairs that lead to the top. If you miss it, go back down the stairs, as it’s much easier to see from above.

Recipes

Specialist Cooking VIII recipes are listed below. There isn’t a set theme for the recipes and it’s one of the shortest books.

Feral Feast

  • Hunger Sated – 137
  • Thirst Quenched – 35
  • Expires – 1 hour, 30 minutes

Craft or Pass: As you can see, this is an incredible food. If you have eggs, I suggest using them for this because it’s arguably the best use for eggs.

Century Egg

Specialist Cooking IX

Conan Exiles Cooking Specialist Guide: Become a Master Chef - Conan Fanatics (51)

Recipes

The Specialist Cooking IX recipes are below. Every recipe in this book has mushrooms in it, which you can find near the rivers and marshes. To get the most mushrooms possible, use a sickle.
