Arsenal begin their pre-season tour of the United States with a game against Bournemouth in Los Angeles.
Mikel Arteta has taken a 26-man Arsenal squad with him for the tour on the other side of the pond. The Gunners are scheduled to play three games there, first against the Cherries followed by big clashes against Manchester United and Liverpool.
Arsenal will want to start their pre-season with a win, and the game against Bournemouth will be an interesting test for Arteta and his men.
The game is scheduled to kick off at the Dignity Health Sports Park at 3:30 am UK time. We will keep you up to date with everything that happens in Arsenal’s first pre-season game of their USA tour.

Mikel Arteta praises Arsenal youngsters
Several Arsenal academy stars impressed in the Bournemouth draw, with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly particularly standing out.
Mikel Arteta has now praised the young players who featured, highlighting the way in which they adapted to playing at a senior level with ease.
“I’m really proud of both the young kids and the senior ones because in their roles, they have fulfilled them in a really impressive way,” he stated.

Ben White is BACK!
Arsenal fans will have missed watching Ben White’s antics on set-pieces during the summer break, but they did not have to wait long to see them again against Bournemouth.
The defender continued his ‘blocking’ role on attacking corners, as he gave the Bournemouth goalkeeper and defence nightmares with his movement as the ball came in, and prevented them from clearing it instantly.
Classic.

Arsenal take on Manchester United next
After the 1-1 draw against Fulham, Arsenal are set to take on Manchester United late on Saturday night.
The Gunners would love to pick up a win in that game, and we think Mikel Arteta will name a much stronger starting lineup against the Red Devils than he did against Bournemouth.
I can’t wait for that game, but for now, it’s goodbye from me!

Arsenal fans react to Ethan Nwaneri’s performance
Nwaneri got a surprise start in Arsenal’s midfield against Bournemouth, and he was terrific.
The teenager was absolutely fearless. He got on the ball, took players on and looked very comfortable even though he was playing against Premier League players.
That shows he is ready for the next step, and Arsenal fans think he is the Smith Rowe replacement if the Englishman leaves for Fulham in the coming days.

Arteta has deployed Lewis-Skelly at left-back and the youngster has started the game very well.
The teenager is tucking into midfield whenever he can as well – very similar to what Zinchenko does for the Gunners when he plays.
The Hale End graduate has been brilliant defensive as well, which is excellent to see considering he is up against Premier League players.
Lewis-Skelly’s future could well lie at left-back.

Arteta is not messing around
Play is stopped for a drinks break, and Arteta, just like he does during competitive games, has called all of his players to the touchline.
The Arsenal boss is as animated as ever, and he can be seen shouting instructions to everyone in front of him. Arteta has a bit of a long chat with Vieira before play restarts.

Vieira is naturally an attacking midfielder, but his versatility allows him to play in almost every attacking position.

Nketiah urges Arsenal youngsters to take their opportunities
Nketiah came through the ranks at Hale End and is now a first-team player. The Englishman knows exactly what it takes to make that step up from the academy to the senior side.
The Arsenal number 14 has now shared some advice to the youngsters who have travelled with the squad to the United States.
He said: “Pre-season is really good for a lot of the lads who haven’t trained or played with us that much to show what they can do. It gives people opportunities to show themselves and get fit, so hopefully they can take them.
“It’s a platform, even for us now, to make our mark and start playing games regularly and get fit. I think there are a lot of examples of players who did well in pre-season and gone on to play and have minutes in the first team, so it’s a really good chance.
“I know what it’s like for the young kids coming through so I’m just trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible. We have a really good group of guys, everyone is really nice and welcoming and tries to make everyone feel good.”

Arteta reacts after another injury blow to Takehiro Tomiyasu
Arsenal were dealt a blow just before their pre-season tour of the USA when it was confirmed that Takehiro Tomiyasu had suffered a knee injury.
The Japan international has not travelled with the squad to the other side of the pond, and even Arteta doesn’t seem too sure when he will return to the squad.
Speaking about Tomiyasu’s injury, Arteta said in his pre-match press conference: “It is unbelievable, because the kid works so hard.
“He had an incident in training this week and we don’t know yet the extent of that [knee] injury but as a precaution, we kept him [in England]. We’ll see what happens.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko hails Jurrien Timber
Jurrien Timber missed almost all of last season due to a serious knee injury. That was such a shame as he looked so good in Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States in 2023.
Timber returned to training at the end of last season, and he has been working really hard to get back to full fitness. He has been training under Arteta since the first day of pre-season in Marbella.
Zinchenko, whose place Timber could take, has been really impressed with the Dutchman and has raved about him.
He said: “I knew him (Timber) before he came to Arsenal. I played against him for the national team at the Euros. I knew him as a player. He is an unbelievable player and an unbelievable guy. He is so humble, he is working super hard.
“Unfortunately for him he just picked up an injury, but he is doing amazing now. I was watching all the process, the way he was coming back from the injury, how much he was working.
“Chapeau to him and everything he has done. He deserves a lot of credit. I wish for every single player in the club to do his best. That is the only way to achieve a lot of things.”

Four players in Arsenal’s USA squad who could leave
Not every player who has been called up to pre-season will be at Arsenal at the end of the transfer window.
Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move to Marseille this summer, and reports have claimed that the Englishman is open to a move to France to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Newly promoted Leicester City have started talks with Arsenal to sign Reiss Nelson this summer. Discussions are ongoing over a loan deal with a clause that would obligate the Foxes to sign him permanently in 2025.
Jakub Kiwior has been heavily linked with a return to Italy. The Pole has only been at Arsenal for 18 months, but with Calafiori about to arrive, the need for him in the squad reduces considerably. I won’t be surprised if he leaves.
