I loved the different areas of Millennium Park. Cloud Gate was so interesting. My favorite part was inside, looking up at the middle. Downtown Chicago has so many amazing outdoor spaces. The architecture is beautiful and I love how art is sprinkled throughout the city. If you want to get pictures with less people there, you'd probably have to go very early in the morning. I was here in the middle of May, in the middle of the day, during the week and it was busy as if it were the weekend.

It's a cool park to walk through to see some cool pieces of art/sculpture. They have security art the entrance, making sure you are not bringing anything illegal in. We really wanted to see "the bean" (Cloud Gate), but it was fenced off for some maintenance. There were still tons of people trying to take pictures.

Very beautiful and chill park in general. Unfortunately the surrounding of cloud gate is under construction so I couldn't reach close. The performing space is crazy! Very strange and stunning metallic building with many many speakers hanging in the sky. Super impressive area which combines chilling vibe and sci-fi ish atmosphere around. It's so beautiful when the tress turns in yellow at Fall.

The park is quiet and well kept. We were lucky enough to see a concert being performed. Unfortunately, the bean was blocked by a construction fence. I don't know why they would do construction during the Summer on one of the city's best attractions. It is quite disappointing.

I love this park and city. It is a beautiful place to visit in summer if you are not good with the cold weather. But also, I adore the landscaping in winter because the snow covers the buildings and it is amazing. Only you should bring with you an appropriate winter jacket.

If you're going to Chicago, then you definitely need to stop by Millennium Park and visit Cloud Gate (The Bean). It's such an amazing place to visit and spend an afternoon walking around the park or simply have nice picnic. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend it.

Millennium Park in downtown Chicago is a world class park with amusem*nt and cultural service facilities for the visitors. At the heart of downtown Chicago, the Millennium Park is a jewel of Emerald. Surrounded by tall skyscrapers and Victorian palaces, the park is a very good piece of Nature in a busy metropolis. The park had some famous landmarks like the Cloud Gate (popularly known as "The Bean"), the Crown Fountain, the Millennium Monument etc.There are food stalls serving a variety of cuisines. Restroom facility is also there.Parking spaces for cars are available nearby.Art Institute of Chicago is nearby.The crowd becomes heavy on weekends and during holidays.

Millennium Park is the BEST park of Chicago and is a MUST visit place, when visiting Chicago. We visited this park back in 2019 when we visited Chicago and spent a whole day exploring this park. You would love the views of Historic downtown Chicago from this park. The cloud gate (a large steel shaped bean looking architecture) is also located on this park.

I visited during Christmas and the lights and Christmas trees were all individually beautiful!Sadly this year they are having maintenance in till 2024 spring so keep that in mind if you're planning to visit! A great place for a walk around.Also a great place to grab a coffee and people watch.Plenty of great views of Chicago sky line.We visited in mid April 24 and unfortunately the beam and the water fountain were both having renovations done, so neither were in use or available for photos.The park is kept clean, with plenty of dogs :)

This is a beautiful park in the heart of Chicago. The silver bean is here, a georgous fountain that lights up at night, and there are sometimes free events, like symphonies. The buildings surrounding the park also light up at night. It's a cool experience.

The most memorable and interesting thing that we saw in Chicago was this Bean sculpture. This is a public park so it’s open to everyone. There are lots of restaurants around this park so you won’t go hungry 🤤 😂.The Chicago Architecture River boat was also great with many information and history.

Beautiful place!!! You can spent so much time taking pictures around the bean but we also enjoyed the ice skaters. It was not too cold so we could spend quite a while around. Lots of nice places close too.

This park is a beautiful spot in downtown Chicago, where you can enjoy the greenery and the skyline view. Although there is a security check before entering, it is worth the wait. The Bean was in our sights as a "must see" on this trip to Chicago. It did not disappoint. We discovered how beautiful the Millennium and outskirts of the city was as we walked for hours in shear awe. While it was raining, the umbrella kept us semi dry. The smiles, laughter and happiness of people finally being able to be out and together again, is exactly what COVID took away. It feels good. We will return.

A must visit park while in the Chicago area. It’s a close walking distance from the iconic River walk and it’s right on the Michigan Avenue, just south of the river.It’s a quiet park, considering the hustle and bustle of the downtown. The park is very well maintained and has a few entrances, controlled by security throughout. You can easily spend 2-4 hours in the park, depending on what you want to do here. There are also regular events held here at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, one of the premier outdoor Amphitheaters, so that will have to factor in. It’s free entrance to the park itself.You will see ‘The Bean’ work of public art here. The sculpture, which is officially titled Cloud Gate, is one of the world’s largest permanent outdoor art installations, currently undergoing some construction work. Lake Michigan is just a few minutes away from this park and so is the Chicago River. If you took the hop on hop off bus tour, there is a stop at this park as well.

First visit to Chicago. It was a beautiful fall day and the weather was amazing. The natural foliage and the landscaping were breathtaking. It was so much to see and appreciate. Walking into this park centered within the city is perfection. A must see!

Lovely green Park with lots of community gathering places. The bean plaza is under renovation through March 2024. So can only see through the fence. There is a fantastic outdoor concert space. At the time of year we visited (November) the kinetic water feature between 2 large and changing digital faces had been switched off for the season. It must be great in the summer for kids to cool off and have fun.

Millennium Park is in a very accessible part of Chicago. I parked at the underground garage for only $13 for essentially the whole day, courtesy of SpotHero. The park has incredible views of the Chicago skyline. The surrounding area is super walkable to places like Navy Pier and museums.

I came here from Washington & the bean was under construction. A local gentleman told me they started in the fall & haven’t done anything with it since. Maybe we just don’t see it 😌. Getting in & out is a hassle, I understand why if there was an event or something however to exit in such long way!

Millennium Park is such a lovely park area in Chicago, IL!! You can access Cloud Gate + The Bean from this park, in addition to other sculptures and art exhibits that are throughout. There are great views of the architecture of Downtown Chicago from this park as well!

The park is a very nice place. It was worth the visit, even with The Bean's square under construction not allowing us to approach. We were lucky to have Chicago Blues Festival on the day we went.

The entire Millennium Park area is terrific fun for both children and adults, free and easily accessible and just steps from the Art Institute. There are parking options nearby and some terrific views of the City. Visitors seemed delighted to be there, especially the children, and it was nice to be part of the joy.

The cloud is under construction (April/May 2024) not sure when it will be open again. But the thing I love is the great lawn, the wave walkway, skatepark, climbing area, mini golf and the water/video art installation. So still worth the visit.

The “Bean” is honestly one of my favorite outdoor large scale sculptures in all of US and I always love to come see it when I’m traveling to Chicago! It is currently under construction, well not the Bean itself but looks to be the flooring around it so it is fenced off but you can see it peaking over the construction fences. Can’t wait to see what kind of renovations they end up doing but highly recommend coming to check it out!

Even though it was closed off it was worth going. The ice-skating was fun. The whole area was very nice and a fun family activity. I will definitely go back! During Christmas time the area looks very pretty with all the lights. The price for the ice-skating is very good! For 1 hour and a half you only got to pay 16 dollars and they even have lockers to secure your stuff.The ice-skating rink provides a delightful experience for both beginners and seasoned skaters. The well-maintained ice surface ensures smooth gliding, and the facility's vibrant atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment. Skating sessions are reasonably priced, and the rental equipment is in good condition. The staff is friendly and attentive, offering assistance to those less confident on the ice. The rink's convenient location and ample parking make it accessible, creating a perfect outing for families or friends. While the snack bar offers standard fare, it could benefit from a broader menu. Beautiful park. Visiting from Texas. Take your times walk around, if you have kids, they have an amazing park with lots of activities. Take chairs, blankets, lay around and enjoy the sun!! The views are amazing and it can get very busy especially around the Bean. Totally worth the walk!

I am in love with this park. It’s gigantic, it takes a long walk to go through all of it. It has two ice-skating rings, cool art installations, the famous bean of Chicago, parks for kids, and a stage for concerts. Those are the few things we did see at the park, because we did not have enough time to walk through all of it. I had a blast with my family, I highly recommend visiting this famous park in Chicago, where you can even get a view of the lake.

It's very pretty here. The Bean was closed though for construction. Otherwise, the art and architecture was lovely to see as we walked around. Lots of pigeons. Lots of people trying to take pictures with the Bean. It's a pleasant grassy area amidst the pavemented streets of Chicago. There were plenty of food trucks when we went, too. And pigeons. So many cute pigeons in a variety of colors.

Exploring Millennium Park during the snowy season was nothing short of magical. The pristine white blanket transformed the park into a winter wonderland. The snow-laden branches framed Cloud Gate in a picturesque scene, offering a unique perspective of "The Bean." The bean is currently closed and under construction. Its visible from distance and outside the barricades.The Jay Pritzker Pavilion stood gracefully, adorned with a dusting of snow, creating a serene ambiance. Walking through the snowy pathways, the gardens and sculptures took on a different charm, making my visit an enchanting experience that showcased the park's versatility in every season. The park also has a big open ice rink.The parking is underground and on paid basis.

Unfortunately, when we went to visit the Bean, it was under construction, so we weren't able to get up close. Despite not being able to fully see the bean, it was still pretty cool.I know a lot of locals said they don't understand the hype about the bean. It's a shiny bean. Yes, it's a shiny bean, but it's cool! You get to not only see yourself and your family, but you see the whole city in the beans' reflection. That's pretty cool and unique if you ask me.I would recommend checking it out. Another great memory added into the books with my kiddos. ❤️

Great fun for kids and adults. Wonderful way to cool off from the day walking around Chicago. They checked our bags before we went in. Quick and efficient line. Grass area and bench seating available to place your things or to rest.

This is one of the coolest downtown parks in the US IMHO. Of course a lot of people gravitate to the Bean sculpture; While that's cool it's just a fraction. It's a nice open air park that's simply fun to stroll around with the Chicago downtown as a backdrop. There's something here for everyone. We love the numerous free concerts, fountains, and our kid just loves the playground which is amazing. The park itself is an adventure as there's a lot to see with its constant changing theme and architecture. We find it a great starting point to the many sites Chicago has to offer.

Was bummed the bean area is under construction so you can't have close contact, but otherwise, the garden near the Art Institute was beautiful with great photo opp Aesthetics. We loved the monuments amazing street music and all of the street vendors selling food. My girls enjoyed and we'll be back.

Such a nice park and place to visit! Area for picnics and play, great for kids, and people were doing yoga there. Very clean and quiet. Don't miss to visit it.

Forever captivated by the beauty and history encapsulated in the Art Institute. Not a place to visit too often as the gallery is largely full of permanent installations, but there is always some sort of special exhibition/gallery taking place when they are open. Entire building is extremely clean with staff and maps scattered around in order to make your experience more enjoyable. Many famous works that one recognizes from pop culture or past studies are able to be seen here. One of the top art museums in the world and an undeniable staple in Chicago’s history. Do not miss out on viewing everything it has to offer.

What else is left to say about this incredible museum, which houses so much of the world's amazing art and history? Even people who aren't art buffs will find something to appreciate here (or at leastsomething familiar!). My only gripe about my visit was the extremely long line for the coat check. The staff were working hard to move it along, but we still incurred about a thirty minute wait at drop-off and then again at pick-up during our March visit. Try to avoid checking anything if you can, so you can get in and enjoy the museum.

Amazing art museum that is 100% well worth the visit. It holds everything from ancient Egyptian artifacts and mummies to modern American paintings like American Gothic and Nighthawks. You can easily spend more than 3 hours here. I would highly recommend visiting.

Very good museum, almost good at everything! It's just one little thing I'd like to say is that it's too big and the instructions are not very significant ( I understand it's for the better look but I got lost and missed some beautiful moments for 3 times....). I hope they have a better touring guidance or audio guide so that I have some clues of sequels in each exhibition area.Otherwise wow!!! It's like I've never seen so many beautiful stuff performed at once place in a good way, especially the Japanese area, they tried very hard to make the ambience feeling like the Japanese vibe, super impressive. I would say the way of exhibition is better than the Met in New York City.

Amazing museum with a large collection of works from important artists. The layout is well thought out and flows from one area to the next. Though large, not overwhelming in size. If you can plan a day there you will be pleased in what you cover.

It was very cool to visit The Art Institute Of Chicago. I had a great time visiting the different exhibits. It was very crowded when I went. But the overall experience was very warming. I saw some great art and the people were really nice.

Great service and amazing staff. Was able to get in free for being military. My girlfriend is an artist so it was great to bring her and let her run all around giving me the rundown. Lots of art variety! The Georgia O’Keefe set was nice as well as the in house snack/beverage bar. Looking forward to a future visit to explore what we didn’t have time to

Loved it, there was so much to see. My favorite areas were the miniature rooms, Asian art sections, and medieval room. The garden outside the museum is beautiful and meditative. It’s a good place to rest your legs after a lot of walking. I also really appreciated the water bottle refilling stations inside the museum.I got tickets online ahead of time and there was no wait to enter on Saturday early afternoon.

It is so famous that I had expected the exhibit to be as informative and comprehensive as the British Museum or the Metropolitan. That might be too challenging. The display in each section is lack of clear plot/storyline, by which I mean the items are like various bread slices in a basket, correlated but not unable to compose a full piece. I understand this is an art museum, so the explanation notes mainly focus on art perspective. Still, for visitors who might come from different backgrounds, the museum could have done a better job of interpretation.

This is a stunning collection of artwork from so many famous painters and sculptors. The price is a bit high ($32/adult), but children 13 and under are free. The building felt like a maze at times and there were alarms constantly going off as people stood too close to artwork. Despite those minor inconveniences, this remains one of my favorite art museums!

My first time attending as an adult, I had a much bigger appreciation for the arts now versus as a kid. It was absolutely breathtaking, and we didn't get to see everything!! We were there for 3 hours and were amazed at all the pieces located here. I would wholeheartedly come back and make it an entire day. I felt like a tourist in my own city.

First time visit to this incredible museum. Very busy for a Friday afternoon. Spent 2.5 hours here and only saw a small part of the collection. Utilized the cellphone app to get around the museum and view the essentials. Recommend booking tickets online. Will definitely be back.

An absolutely amazing art museum and a must see of Chicago. I visited on a Monday morning which had significantly less crowds than the weekends. Entry was quick and easy and I saved on tickets by using the Citipass. Keep in mind tickets for non residents are more expensive. The entry way is beautiful and it's very easy to navigate around the museum due to the signage and provided maps. I especially like that there is a list of must sees on the back of the map for those who only have a short amount of time to visit like I did. My favorite areas were probably the Impressionists and Ancient Egyptian pieces. The layout is easy to navigate and separated in distinct periods that makes sense, nothing detracts from the pieces themselves, and it's overall an amazing experience. I can't wait to revisit with plenty of time to thoroughly explore all the exhibits.As for accessibility: there were plenty of wide open spaces and wide open doors for wheelchairs/walkers/etc. to navigate through. There are handicap accessible ramps into the buildings as well as elevators to reach the different floors. Beautiful museum with an expansive collection of paintings and sculptures. You can easily spend hours here roaming the beautiful hallways and staircases. It’s free on certain days for Chicago residents so it made the experience even better. I’d recommend to check this place out when you come to Chicago.

Incredible experience! If you can, plan to spend hours exploring this beautiful place. The nice experience starts right as you arrive and check in your coat. They are very organized and efficient. Their food ordering process is very efficient, too. The grilled cheese with goat cheese, fig, and arugula is by far the best grilled cheese I have ever tasted. Their exhibits are very diverse and well presented, and there is something for every art preference.

Absolutely worth a visit! We spent approximately four hours roaming around, and taking in multiple exhibits. The art on display is both stunning and educational at the same time. A great idea for a day when you don't have much planned, and can take the time to properly take in all the Institute offers.

Beautiful building filled with beautiful paintings. I especially enjoyed the Monet collection. I thought I would be taken by the lilies, but wheat piles just took me to another dimension, and i was sober, alright ;). I also liked Van Gogh and other impressionists. The collection of eastern ceramics and wall paintings was also impressive. We stopped by only for few hours, so we didn't see everything, but i definitely plan to come back ;).

This place is immense and worth every penny of the admission fee. See some highlights like American Gothic or that famous Seurat painting at the park you recognize from studying pointillism back in school. But don’t miss some hidden gems: creepy Goya etchings from 1800s Spain, the picture of Dorian Gray from the 1945 film, and a fascinating collection of miniature rooms that look ready for Stuart Little to move in. They also have a very wide range of Picasso styles collected under one roof and the impressionism section truly is a must-see!

The Art Institute of Chicago is situated right in the heart of the city, next to Millennium Park. This is one of the best museums around. I like the impressionist exhibits. Show Case Monet Renoir Manet Vincent Van Gogh also. The exhibits and paintings are so wonderful to view. Very nice experience. A must visitnif you are in Chicago. We also visited the Picasso special exhibition too.

If you are a fan of art you would really enjoy this place! I absolutely loved visiting the museum. I would definitely recommend it. Also, I would recommend wearing a light jacket nothing too big or warm because the inside of the museum is really warm and when you are walking around it can start to feel hot. Wear comfy shoes because you will be walking a lot and going up/down the stairs.

Well worth the price. It was fun to run into several famous paintings I didn’t know were there. Staff was universally kind, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend. They have a list on the back of the guide listing “don’t miss” works is you’ve only got an hour, but you’ll want to spend far more.

I wasn't someone who was typically interested in museums or understood the essence of art, but I decided to visit this one while attending an event in Chicago. I must say, it was grand and spacious, with an extensive collection. Many of the paintings left me amazed by the creativity of human expression. The ticket price was also quite affordable, around $26 for students, if I remember correctly—it had been two months since my visit.

Great find.. I'm a Monet guy and found several pieces I have never seen before. The impressionist collection was great overall, with many works from the most famous artists.. quite an amazing collection. Well situated in the downtown, the only amusing things were the staff who couldn't point us to Edward Hopper's the Nighthawks.. I guess they mainly stand round trying to prevent eco terrorists from souping irreplaceable works of art 😄.

We had the fortune of being able to visit the institute an hour before the official opening time with some friends who were members. So when we went there, the building was almost empty (which felt like a real privilege).This place has an amazing collection of diverse art. If you're just somewhat into art, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this place and taking your time while you're there.

Came here with free admission courtesy of Bank of America’s free museum visits every first weekends of the month. I joined one of the scheduled art tour but end up leaving the tour early due and opt to enjoy the art pieces myself. Even as someone who barely understands art, I could enjoy this place and even claim I got a bit inspired by some of the pieces here. A worthy visit!

It had been many years since my last visit, and I had forgotten just how amazing this world-class museum was. It was difficult to see all we wanted to see in one day, and I know we missed quite a bit. We saw some famous pieces and found new treasures to enjoy. If I lived nearby, I would be there all the time.

So grateful for their free days. I was able to take our senior residents (at a non profit memory care home) to visit twice! Both times staff was super helpful with holding doors, helping us find certain locations, and free wheelchairs at coat check. The crowds were not as great, but staff also came to the rescue when we were trying to go up a ramp and a hoard of students decided that was their route instead of just using the steps. One of the best art museums in the world. Their collection of 20th century art rivals the best museums in New York, London, and Berlin. I’ve spent at least 20 hours there over 4-6 visits and feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. Their Byzantine collection, their Impressionism collection, their collection of Asian Buddhist/Hindu art…. It’s all just so rich and informatively curated. The architecture is also gorgeous. Make sure to take the walk from the Third floor balcony over the streets and into the park across the way.

We visited The Art Institute of Chicago last weekend and had a great experience. We bought tickets online on Tiqets for the first time, and it turned out to be reliable and much cheaper than the museum's website.The atmosphere was nice and not as crowded as other museums like the Louvre. The layout and relaxed placement of the art made it easier to get closer to the pieces. Unlike the Louvre, which has barriers, this museum only had black ribbons on the ground, allowing for a more intimate viewing experience.The exhibition rooms are clearly marked, though the maps were a bit confusing. Thankfully, there were many helpful staff members in uniform ready to assist and even suggest must-see artworks.We saw all the major pieces we wanted to in about 4-5 hours, but I recommend spending more time to fully enjoy everything. Overall, a fantastic visit and worth the trip!

What an amazing museum! Some really famous classic paintings along with some other great art. There are very few other museums in the world that have such a vast collection of works of art that make you feel like you’re seeing so many famous pieces.Admission is pretty expensive at $32 for non residents. I didn’t feel ripped off as what you get it worth the price, but it’s a bit unfortunate they charge as much as they do. I guess those famous art pieces come with a price tag too! Regardless I would recommend visiting no matter how long you have in Chicago as it doesn’t get much better.The museum is so big navigating it can be a little difficult at times, especially if it’s as busy as it was when we went. There’s multiple different places to get food or drinks if you want, and there’s a decent gift shop inside as well. Make sure you get a map when you come in, and check your coat. If you bring water they make you take it in with a bag, so be aware of that before you go.

What a great museum, I truly enjoyed my visit! I’m a big fan of Vincent Van Gogh art and I wanted to come here and it finally came true. This is a big museum, so definitely you need time to spend and enjoy it, for me it was only 2 hours and I did a little less than half of the museum, but I definitely started with post-Impressionism art, where Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings were and also Monet’s. I had a great experience and I hope to come back in the future to visit the other exhibitions, I couldn’t see. I bought my tickets in advance through their website, I highly recommend this because it gets packed and you don’t have to make a line to purchase the tickets.

Great museum and wheelchair accessible. Some spaces were a bit small of overcrowded, and unfortunately, we encountered loud mouth patrons who spoke so loudly the walls reverberated with echos (impressionists wing). Overall, I've been here numerous times and always enjoy the current exhibitions, wonderful cafes, and gift shops. If you plan to visit, come early and enjoy!

Have visited many times and always something to discover! Great collections of both classic and modern paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, armor, miniatures, and so on. They usually have 2+ special exhibits as well, often of well-known artists, which are thoughtful and revealing.The cafe is nice for a break and lovely fountain-side courtyard dining is available in nice weather.Also take time to observe the sculpture and fountains outside the museum, and of course it’s in the heart of all the sites of Chicago.Don’t miss it!

I had the best time here., there is so much to see. I got a map and explored . There are a lot of steps and sometimes I did use the elevator. I was glad I had checked my heavy backpack and coat (no extra cost) so it was easier to walk around.I took so many pictures and could have taken more. I should have stopped and had a break at the modern cafe for a co*ke and a cookie.

For this particular occasion we went for the Pablo Picasso exhibit. We paid $5 as Illinois residents and it is worth mentioning that the museum is free during weekdays.The building itself is admirable, very well taken care of inside and outside. All of the exhibits are being looked after as there are hundreds of art pieces on a daily basis.Whether you’re are someone who is into sculpting, painting, architecture, mosaics, or any other form of art, the Art Institute of Chicago has something to offer.Definitely looking forward for more exhibitions.

Visiting the Art Institute of Chicago was wonderful! Despite a slightly challenging layout, the museum's beauty shone through. It wasn't too crowded, and ticket prices were fair. I was impressed by the diverse range of exhibits, including works by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and a ton of other well-known artists. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

I wish I had spent more time here! We arrived around 2pm and spent 3 hours soaking it all in, but truly I think I could have spent a week looking at everything and still not felt like I saw it all. Each exhibit is detailed and laid out in a way that you feel as though you're wandering forever deeper and deeper into the magic of art. Grab a map, choose your favorite era, and get lost in it.The Georgia O'Keeffe installation is worth the admission especially if you have a connection to New York City or the American Southwest.

Definitely buy your tickets online! We just walked right in but people were waiting in a line going out the door to buy in person. It was pretty crowded so come in earlier in the day. There were a lot of paintings I've only ever seen in books they are worth seeing in person! The staff were really nice and helpful when looking for specific pieces and the rooms were really well kept.I recommend the miniature rooms in the basem*nt!

I’m sure this is very pretty in the summertime, but since it’s off season, the fountain is off. The surrounding area is a huge wide open space, and it makes it very nice to see the skyscrapers and sky line. Even better for the lights at night.

Beautiful fountain in the middle of Grant Park Chicago. No entrance fee! Easy walk from Michigan Ave, We walked to the fountain from the Art institute within 10 minutes. You can also hop on a rental bike or there are many bikers that have carriage rides available for you along the waterfront and fountain areas you can hop on and get a ride if needed. It has a beautiful view of the lakefront on one side and the city buildings as a back drop on the other sides. The fountain is one of the largest fountains in the world donated by Kate Buckingham. The fountain has a beautiful night light show that has 820 lights that are meant to convey soft moonlight. It has three pumps pushing over 14,000 gallons of water per minute through 134 jets. It's a definite must do when in Chicago!

What a sight to see! The Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain located in Grant Park shoots water up to 150 feet! Need to see this at night while the lights are on! Bring the family, let the kids run around. Truly a gorgeous fountain. Street parking is plentiful and nearby during the weekday it is pay to park.

A must see if you're in the downtown Chicago area. It's a bit of a walk but worth it. They have gardens surrounding the area and you get a great view of the lake/lakeshore drive. Lots of vendors and a pizza Cafe nearby. During the summer there is a fragrant rose garden and butterfly garden. And every few minutes the fountain gives a bit of a show. Make this one of your sightseeing stops.

Pretty nice area, good views of the city skyline. The fountain was not on yet when we visited because of the low temperatures, the season was starting on May 11th so couldn’t see it on. The public restrooms in the area surprised us because they were pretty clean to be public.

Visited: 06/07/2023Really nice fountains, the level of detailing of the sculptures within the fountain is amazing. You get a good view of the city skyline as well from here, and the nice breeze from Lake Michigan which was welcomed on a hot day.

This iconic fountain is such a much visit while in Chicago. The location is prime, right in Grant Park and very close to the Millennium Park and west of the shores of the Lake Michigan.The fountain itself is majestic, one of the largest fountains in the World. It has four sets of Seahorses representing each of the four states of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana that border Lake Michigan. Just a 360 walk around the fountain can be entertaining as you can catch various angles of the fountain against the different backdrop of the city and the skyline and the Lake, just magnificent!The water shoots up the fountains so high that on a windy day you could have a nice light shower standing even a good 50 feet away or farther from the edge, depending on the direction of the wind.There are Some food carts around the fountain and nearby and there are facilities by it. You can spend a good hour if not longer at this location just admiring the fountain and the surroundings.

For my first time in Chicago this was a great central space for me. Traveled here for work and Grant Park was also such a pleasure to walk in, around and out of! Lots of great food near by as well as easy travel and amenities near by such as public transit access. I recommend taking your time here, very clean and beautiful. Will definitely return.

This park is excellent! It's well-maintained, clean, and the cherry blossoms are beautifully blooming. My only suggestion would be to add a few more benches for visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery. Overall, a delightful experience! 🌸🌳

This park is great during the middle of the day. My Wife and I were in Chicago on January 22-23, 2022 and although it was cold, in direct sunlight it was decently pleasant to walk along the park, with the water on one side and the downtown skyline on the other. As you walk from the Museum Campus to the Millennium and Grant Park areas, there is a lot of green space and plenty of nice places to stop and rest or just take in the view.

Grant Park, the “Front Yard” of Chicago is located in the main business district in downtown Chicago. This is Chicago’s centerpiece like Central Park of New York.Grant Park is not just the park or one attraction. This is the combination of many landmarks and attractions. This includes the Buckingham Fountain, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Natural History, Aquarium and planetarium with great lakefront views and skyscrapers of Chicago.There are many parking garages under the park. 300 acres of green space in such a busy downtown area is really incredible and you will never get disappointed, even if you are new as a tourist or a local resident.Millennium Park which is a park within a Grant Park is a modern take on traditional town square for outdoor concerts. The iconic Cloud Gate in the Millennium Park is also a major milestone of Grant Park.We were dropped at Buckingham Fountain and picked up from the same point by our host. I believe the parking and traffic is a problem to visit this place. Parking charges are rip offs and your pleasure of visiting something good fades away after paying high parking charges.

Grant park is nice place to walk, there are several fountains, lots of trees and lots of paths to walk, ever since I came to Chicago I walk in this park every day. Almost all major events, concerts and parades in Chicago are held in this park. On July 1-2, there will also be a NASCAR street race, one part of which will go around Grant Park

Very calm and languid place, especially at dusk or dawn. It was so very calming, that I couldn’t believe that I had spent 2 hours just looking at the surrounding Chicago skyline, the fountain and the lakeshore which is literally like maybe a 100 steps from the fountain. It was a stupendous place, that I would recommend everybody who live near Chicago visit.

Went for the Switch On Summer event and everything was spectacular, from the booths doing giveaways, the bands, the atmosphere was great. It made Chicago feel like a community.

I have been here a couple of times.This last time was extra special to me because here was the Chicago Marathon.The organization of the whole event was terrific.The access to park was very secure for all the runners involved.The previous day of the event we walked around the park and was super clean, a lot of families were enjoying the weather.It is a very nice place to go while visiting Chicago and a terrific place to run.

We participated in the Cancer Walk. It started at Arvey Field. This park is a beautiful place to walk or jog or ride your bike.There are biking lanes separate from the walking area and the bikers will remind you that you're in the wrong area if you happen walk in the bike lanes.You can have lunch or sit and read book, rent a kayak, take a cruise, got to the museum.There are food vendors so you can get a bite to eat while you're in the park.There are so many different areas of the park that I didn't even get to. So many things to do.I wish I'd taken more pictures.

Not sure if the Museum campus comes under Grant Park or not, but it's only a 10-minute walk from here. At the heart of Grant Park is Buckingham Fountain. One of the largest fountains in the world,in fact, every attraction in Chicago comes under the loop. we were there for 2 days and walked 42 KM in days and covered every attraction Chicago offers.it is a nice green space for a stroll. you can admire superb views of downtown Chicago from here. Grant Park is open to visitors every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission to the park and Buckingham Fountain is free,Millennium Park also rubs elbows with the northwest corner of Grant Park).

The Polish Constitution Day parade takes place here around May 3rd weekend. Such a beautiful display, well organized, clean and I felt safe.

Great park! Plenty of space, good. I have been here a couple of times I like it. Sadly, Lots of homeless in tents, and no public bathrooms that I could see.

I put my cycle in trunk and park my car in 31st street parking lots and then I reached grant park in 20 minutes by doing cycling 🚴 on the lake side, I reached at grant park and eat a pizza slice 🍕 and 2 drinks 🍺 in pie life near the fountain, it was a sunny day with little cold, awesome place to visit

Grant Park in Chicago is such a sweet spot. I just ran a 5k there and it's amazing. Known as "Chicago's front yard," it boasts iconic attractions like Buckingham Fountain, one of the largest in the world. Inspired by the Latona Fountain at Versailles, it shoots water up to 150 feet and has a dazzling light and music show in the evenings from May to October.

Beautiful area in downtown Chicago. So much art! Fountains, sculptures, flowers, and benches. Plenty of grass and amazing views of the city. Well worth the walk to enjoy. This might be a place to plan a picnic soon.

One of the largest science museums in the country. The submarine 505 was amazing. They have tons of cool stuff and parking is very easy. Just park in the park and get the app to pay for parking. This was a very fun park and we had a very good food there. Planning on spending 6 hours

We went to the Chicago Street Race. Great in person experience! The sights and sounds were awesome! The event was pretty well organized. Security was good, many portable bathrooms and there were water stations to refill your water bottles. The rules on what you can bring were posted online but weren't enforced completely, like no backpacks, which some people had. Next time, I would definitely bring chairs and a small clear bag to carry things. There was plenty of places for food and drinks, but pricey, of course. Also plenty of Nascar souvenirs to purchase. It was a fun event with beautiful views of the city and the concerts afterwards were a additional bonus!

Really cool building to visit. A lot of history. The Tiffany mosaic ceiling is gorgeous. The 5,000 square foot flag hanging in the atrium is the largest of its kind in a department store. The historic street corner clock is a great photo opp as well. Plus convinent train stop right at the door!

Having lived in several major cities where Macy's has taken over grand old department store buildings, I can say when Macy's shows up, you can pretty much accept the fact that an era has ended. I see some glowing reviews here, perhaps coming from people that don't realize what "used to be".This is true of the State St. Chicago location (as well as the Wanamaker building in Philadelphia). I unfortunately never got to visit Marshall Field's prior to the change. I did visit the new Macy's not too long after the take over. At that time, the store still felt kinda festive, but I could tell some of the grandeur was already gone. Now, in 2022, the store is but a whisper of what it once was. Granted, Covid played a big part...and traffic in the store still isn't back up to "exciting" yet. I have some ideas about what's going on.I don't think the location is a destination as it once was for city dwellers. Because downtown is changing rapidly, there also isn't the type of foot traffic there once was, from people converging on the loop for work. So a lot of the customers are visitors, or maybe residents who happen to have made the trip down. Retail is also quickly changing, and the department store as an icon is dwindling. But a lot of it has to do with Macy's itself. I happened to work at the Herald Square location in the 80s and THAT was still an exciting place (not so much anymore). I also worked for Macy's again in the early 2000s in King of Prussia, PA. That's when I realized how bland the company had gotten. Presentation, the type of employees, and general atmosphere all have gone to pot. At State St. even, once you leave the main floor, some of the employees are dressed like they're going to a picnic, not selling "finer retail". Plus, Macy's pretty much stretched themselves too thin, placing multiple stores within short distances. The Water Tower/Michigan Ave. store has had to close.That being said...the building as an architectural feature is still amazing. Please do some reading about the history of Marshall Field's and the eventual residency of the store in this location. Do take time to view the amazing "Tiffany Dome" that was designed by Tiffany himself. And yes...they still have a "bargain basem*nt" where you can find incredible markdowns, although it's on the 2nd floor (well, men's is). AND...one of the few stores that still has an extensive candy dept!!! I will say that Macy's also is one of the only chains that WILL put in good effort to decorate for Christmas...

Visited The Walnut Room for Christmas in July. It was a beautiful experience they never disappoint. Had the meatloaf, amazing! Also, a Poinsettia :) Our server Jose took great care of us. He was very attentive to us and got everything right. Way to go Walnut Room, great employee! We already made our reservation for Christmas dinner when leaving today. Went to the Walnut room for a Prince drag show. Beautiful space and fun performances, garlic bread was stupendous, the Caesar salad was fine and bottomless mimosas well priced. Service was excellent and responsive

The retail aesthetics we're beautiful, however there a were few empty display windows on both Wabash and State Street side...to my dismay. Macys is beautiful but it does not compare to the grandeur that was once Marshall Field's & Co., my old employer back in the 80s.On a positive note, I was very pleased to see that the old Walnut Room has reopened for specialty brunches, special events and wedding packages 💐

I had a wardrobe malfunction whereas I needed a dress asap. The staff in Macy's was amazing. They pointed me in the right direction and checked me out very quickly. Did I mention the dress was on sale?! $50!

Update: Today I signed up for a Macy's credit card and spent 6 hours here, on only 2 floors. This store has everything imaginable. Third floor women's is full of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen. And many great sales for Father's Day weekend coming up.Amazing store!! An entire city block. You will need many many trips here to fully enjoy what Macy's has to offer. Today it was pre- black Friday specials/prices. I found several items, and with a Macy's charge an extra 20 percent off. Unfortunately I don't have a Macy's credit card, but it was still a good deal!

Overall a unique visit for experiencing such a large department store. I kinda got whiplash going from floor to floor though. Some are clean and lavish while others look quite dated!

Some great deals on name brand clothes. Service was good and clerks were helpful, except for the Dior/Channel booths. They had a display of perfume that three people couldn't provide a price. Finally I just walked away.

Just gorgeous. The holiday displays were so over the top cute. We had a booze hot chocolate too and that was just perfect. It’s what you would expect from a flagship store.The large tree at the top was fantastic. The woman at the door stopping people from trying to get pictures and telling them to move was not so fantastic. How can you have a tree like that and not expect people to want pictures? At least have a designated spot. 🤷‍♀️

This is such a beautiful building and a real treat to visit. A lot of the historical significance has been preserved and restored thanks to Macy’s. It felt special to shop here knowing the history of the building. The store itself was pretty good, staff were helpful and available. Bit hard knowing where everything is just because of how massive the floor plan is, and some renovations were going on. Definitely worth visiting.

Macy's really impressed me with their women's plus size selection. It's on the 5th floor across from Toy's R Us. They have a lot of different designers. They also have Nike women's athletic wear. They had Winter coats and tons of Christmas, and new year's outfits. My new spot for clothes!

12 floors of shopping, but the top 3 floors were closed off and appeared empty when we went. Bathrooms are not easy to find even though the map tells the floors. Would go again.

Was upset that they have it where you can't even catch a glimpse of Santa. You have to have reservations. Macy's is supposed to have the best Christmas decorations but there wasn't much to see. The outside decorations were neat. Also most of the escalators were not working.

Well, well, well it's Macy's aka Marshall Fields! They really don't even need no review the name speaks for itself. But it has always and will continue to be my favorite place to shop. It looks extra pretty around Christmas time. Anything you want Macy's has it.....I had to go and make this furniture set mines. They gave good deals going on during black Friday season 🖤 ....and make sure you get a photo by the water fountain ⛲.

Tim Bell has been selling mattresses and furniture for decades (he started at Marshall Field), and he really knows his merchandise. There are dozens of mattresses, and it's very confusing, but Tim explained everything in simple terms. He took the time to make certain my choice met my sleeping needs... and stayed within my budget. And he didn't try to sell me more than I needed. If you're in the market for a mattress, Macy's has a great selection and dependable reputation. And Tim is the professional you want to help you select the right one for your needs.Next, the delivery. It was perfect. Two men arrived on time. They set up my mattress and foundation, covering each with the zippered allergy covers I provided. Then they hauled the packing material and my old set away, all without damaging my floor and walls.Finally, my new Serta mattress and foundation. I slept on it last night for the first time, and I couldn't be more pleased!

I went to the men’s department to shop for a bday gift for my father & Uncle & I received thee best customer service from a woman. I made eye contact when a man first who said NOTHING to me, but when she saw me, she greeted me & asked if I needed help. I hate I forgot her name because I intended on doing a personal survey for her! She’ll remember me tho because I was with my son, & she asked at least two other people to help me find the blue pair of shoes he wanted 🤣, she was so patient, and I’m just grateful to know this will be my new shoe store for men ☺️👏🏿 GREAT customer service goes a longggggg way. Mall divided into small floors, accessible by escalator or elevator. Eating dinner here? Better have your VAX card! Yup, just like every place in town! That is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. This Texan appreciates health and safety, but it doesn't come at the cost of my liberties. Everyone has their own choice, I'm vaccinated but I shouldn't have to prove that to anyone.

Water Tower Place is a decent shopping center. It's clean and nice, making it a pleasant place to visit. However, I wish they had more brand options available🤗 While it's a good spot for shopping, a wider variety of stores would make the experience even better. Overall, it's a solid choice for a shopping trip, but there's room for improvement.

I've only been there 1 other time and we came in through the parking doors in photos. She were met by a sales ladies for some insurance or something, kind of taken back. Set them up on a floor and not as soon as you walk in, Anyway we were heading to Victoria Secret and Sephora and Harry Carays to finish. VS store was ok , they seem a little under stocked and had a sweater & pant set ( Sweats ) the bottoms were on sale and the top to the same outfit was not ? ? ? IDK what's about, Sephora was better with a good choice of colognes, par fumes and make up sets & CBD items. Bought some CBD tightening cream and it's awesome for that and pain 1K mg THC. Great price too, then to Harry's and get this we knew the mandate for Vaccine Cards & ID so we were ready. The guys in front of us had them, but the guy said that his doctor was lying when he told him he had Covid just the other day? We ordered the Fajita Chicken Quesadillas and they were really good with some house sweet potatoes fries and finally a bar with Seagram I like 7&7 7up and Seagram. Wife ordered the soup and it was really good too. The bar was empty except for 1 person , we took a picture in the photo booth for $ 7 and turn out pretty good. Staff was nice could have been a little more attentive to the 3-4 tables , but still good.

The mall is not as big as I though but it is easy to navigate around. We visited in December so the Christmas decorations were in place. They were very beautiful. There are a lot of trendy stuff.

I used to love this mall, not anymore. The good times are gone, lot of famous brands closed up (Hollister, AE, A&F) I CAN'T believe that this mall still had lot to offer. Also good food court closed after pandemic. Shame but yeah.

Definitely had a wonderful time with my family here. My children had so much fun that it knocked them out to sleep by the time we made it home. It really was a Dr. Seuss experience.

Loved this mall more than the 900 N Michigan shops mall across the street. We parked in the 900 N Michigan shops garage though, and since we validated the parking ticket from one of the shops there, it was only 10$ for 3 hours. This mall is a total of 7 floors, lots of options for food and shopping! There are Adidas and Nike stores here which i like. Loved the pretzels from Auntie Annes. Chicago Sports Museum on the top most floor. The lego shop of floor 2 looked busy.

Water Tower Place is a good shopping complex on N. Michigan Ave. named after the historic Water Tower located just across the street. They have a fair range of retail shops and eateries as well as the Chicago Sports Museum on the 8th floor.

Fantastic mall! I love swinging by if I'm ever passing by or in the area. There are many great stores such as Adidas, forever 21, the Lego store, etc. The mall and all the stores are also always clean and we'll kept. The staff at all the stores and just in the mall itself are always great. Definitely worth a stop.

Beautiful buildings! Went inside and it was like the smallest library ever haha and also a theater and a public water facility. Super interesting...also very cool drinking fountain outside.

It was cool walking through the shopping area that is connected to the Ritz-Carlton Chicago hotel where you do not have to deal with the elements so if you are looking for something quick to eat or to find an item of specific quality then definitely walk through and shop at Water Tower Place.

I've never been to a mall that had more than two floors, so one with seven (7) ??!?? Is INSANE!For us, we only visited a handful of shops, but they were pretty spread out between the floors, and we didn't mind riding the escalators up and down a few times.I would definitely 100% recommend grabbing a shake from Jojo's, I'm pretty sure they're located on the main floor, or maybe the second? It was delicious and not that expensive. I wish we had one back where I live, because I would be buying them all the time 😅😅🤷🏻‍♀

Cool place to visit, as you walk in you get a sense of the size, after all, there are 7 floors. There are plenty of stores to visit and the elevators were fun to take. We went during the Holidays, the decorations were pretty.

I haven’t gone to this place in a couple of years because I live in Houston now but I have visited this location a couple of times. This mall seems quite bougie and I definitely enjoy looking at all of the things and it’s definitely a place that you should go with your friends if you’re in Chicago and want to just have a fun time, but I definitely don’t think it is a main attraction of Chicago. This is just some thing if you have the time and I did go with my junior high band because we had the time and I don’t think there’s a bunch of things for kids to do in Chicago.I also went with my family before. It's not the same exciting shopping mall where once it was similar to an afternoon traffic jam just to go up the escalators. Many of the shops have unfamiliar names. Whoever owns the place better hurry and do something like loweing rent before it becomes a relic or a high-end condo building!

My bestie took me here while we were in Chicago for a concert. The museum was cool and had some cool games to play. Entry fee for the Sports museum was only $10. It was a beautiful, and a safe atmosphere. Tons of places to shop. I was watching the movie Fred Claus and during the scene where a bunch of Santa's were chasing Vince Vaughans character into a Toy's R US in that same building. I was like "Hey!! I was just there!" LOL We got lost trying to find the way out that we came in. One of the workers who was I think was waiting for her ride home while sitting at the bottom of a staircase chimed in when she could tell we were lost. She was super polite and explained to us how to get to the entrance we came in. Chicago gets a bad reputation from the media but there's amazing friendly people who live there. The woman working the sports museum Entry point was just as friendly. I love Chicago! Everytime I go there it's a different experience, but it's always positive.

Great mall with great stores! Coming from Michigan and seeing that the support animals are welcomed in the stores was very refreshing to see. I look forward to coming back.

What a horrible place it is now! What happened?? Having just landed in Chicago here, we headed straight here for the food hall on floor 3 or 4 that turns out is no more.But we entered the building to all this roaring and shouting?! I thought there was an emergency evacuation, maybe there was a fire? But people were still going up the escalator?? So my husband said come on - but the security or police ( I'm not sure) tried to stop my teen son but my husband had to tell them we're family and he's with us, and they let go. It looks like you have to be over 18 or 21 to enter this shopping centre? There's no food places to hang out, there's a bar way up on very top floor..I don't know what was up with the bizarre security, the whole experience was frightening and intimidating, but our hunger (after 12 hours travelling ) pushed us to go in. If I was a business owner paying to be there, I'd be very concerned about loss of business due to those doormen.Never again! We never set foot back here during this visit and don't intend to on future visits either.

I live in northern Indiana so malls around me are basically dead. We came for the Harry Potter experience but showed up early and had a look around. Definitely a good spot if you're looking to hit a lot of shopping in one building. I don't love that there aren't restrooms on each floor but there were enough just with a bit if a wait. There is a lot of signage with a QR code to scan and see a list of all of the shops and a map. It was insanely busy and I'm not sure if it's always like that or because it just so happened to be lollapalooza weekend. Definitely high traffic on the escalators and there was a serious wait if you needed an elevator (which doesn't stop on each floor).

It's an okay mall. It seems American Girl keeps it going.
